NCLT Allows 'Haunted' Release Under Strict Revenue Conditions
17 Jun
Summary
- Film 'Haunted - Echoes Of The Past' to release on June 12.
- All film revenues must be deposited in a separate bank account.
- Weekly revenue and expenditure statements to be shared with RP.

The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) in Mumbai has granted permission for the release of Vikram Bhatt's horror film, Haunted - Echoes Of The Past, on June 12, 2026. This decision was made despite the film being entangled in a legal dispute related to insolvency proceedings. The NCLT's order allows the film's release under stringent conditions designed to protect the interests of the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP).
These conditions include the mandatory deposit of all revenues generated from the film into a separate bank account. Furthermore, weekly statements detailing both revenue and expenditure must be provided to the Resolution Professional (RP). The Tribunal has also reserved the liberty for the RP to approach it should any unusual expenditures come to light. The case is scheduled for further hearing on July 27, 2026.
The NCLT had previously declined to impose a stay on the film's release. Instead, it had directed the respondents to disclose all earnings to the RP. Respondents, who acquired film rights via a January 30, 2024 agreement, voluntarily agreed to deposit all revenue, including theatrical, music, and other exploitation rights, into a dedicated account, leading to the tribunal's conditional approval.
