NCIS Veteran Actress Roma Maffia Reprises Iconic Role in Crossover Event
11 Nov
Summary
- Actress Roma Maffia returns as NCIS Special Agent Vera Strickland
- Crossover between NCIS and prequel series NCIS: Origins
- Maffia's Vera Strickland to appear alongside Diany Rodriguez's younger version

Twelve years after her guest appearance on NCIS, actress Roma Maffia is set to reprise her role as NCIS Special Agent Vera Strickland in an upcoming crossover event between the flagship series and its prequel, NCIS: Origins. Maffia's return to the character she first portrayed in a Season 11 episode will provide a compelling contrast to Diany Rodriguez's portrayal of the younger Vera on the Origins series.
In preparation for the crossover, Maffia opted not to rewatch her previous NCIS episode, instead relying on the detailed script to guide her back into the character. The actress expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to revisit Vera, particularly given the new layers added to the character through Rodriguez's work on Origins, such as her role as a psychological profiler.
The crossover event will see the NCIS team travel to the small town of Serenity, California to investigate the death of a naval officer, with the results of this case reverberating decades later in the flagship series. Maffia's Vera Strickland will be called out of retirement to assist in the investigation due to her connection to the 1992 case.
