Nate Bargatze's debut feature film, "The Breadwinner," is scheduled for release on May 29. Initially planned for a March 13 debut, the family-friendly comedy from director Eric Appel will now arrive in theaters just as students begin their summer vacations.
The film stars Bargatze as Nate Wilcox, a father tasked with caring for his three young daughters. The plot unfolds as his wife, Katie, portrayed by Mandy Moore, secures a significant business deal after an appearance on "Shark Tank." This personal project represents Bargatze's first major endeavor since hosting the Emmy Awards in September.
"The Breadwinner" was co-written by Bargatze and Dan Lagana, with Appel directing. The ensemble cast includes Colin Jost, Kumail Nanjiani, Will Forte, Zach Cherry, Martin Herlihy, and Kate Berlant. The movie aims to provide a real-life, family-appropriate film experience, fulfilling Bargatze's desire for content he can watch with his entire family.
