Nate Amos Quits Weed, Drops Quirky Pop Album

Nate Amos, a prolific artist behind Water From Your Eyes and My Idea, has unveiled his latest solo project, 'Box for Buddy, Box for Star,' under the moniker This Is Lorelei. This album marks a significant shift for Amos, who was motivated to quit smoking weed daily for 15 years following an impactful visit to Stonehenge. The experience led him to focus his restless energy on songwriting, resulting in a keenly crafted and adventurous collection of songs.

'Box for Buddy, Box for Star' represents the first time Amos intentionally created a full album for his This Is Lorelei project, known for years as a Bandcamp outlet for unfiltered experiments. Amos played, sang, and sampled every element on the record himself. The album showcases a wide range of styles, from singer-songwriter narratives and Auto-Tuned pop to sampled strings and meditative piano. His characteristic attention to detail, evident in the delightful chaos of Water From Your Eyes, is applied here with more approachable, yet equally deft, flourishes.
