Nashik's Panchavati area will experience substantial traffic disruptions on Tuesday due to the annual Ravan Dahan ceremony, a key Dasara celebration. City police have implemented diversions affecting major roads like Malegaon Stand to Ramkund, which will be closed to vehicular traffic between 3 pm and 10 pm. This measure aims to manage the expected crowd of approximately 10,000 people attending the event.
The Ravan Dahan, involving the burning of an effigy of Ravan, is a significant cultural program held on the banks of the Godavari at Ramkund Gangaghat ground. Prior to this, a procession featuring Lord Ram and Laxman Sena commences from Chatursampraday Akhada, traversing through various city landmarks before reaching Ramkund. Authorities are advising motorists to utilize alternative routes such as Malegaon Stand, Panchavati Karanja, Nimani Bus Stand, and Katya Maruti Chowk to navigate around the affected zones.
