Summary
- Nana Patekar debuts on OTT in Prakash Jha's new series, Sankalp.
- The show explores power, politics, and institutional systems.
- Inspired by Chanakya and Chandragupta, it's set in modern times.

Filmmaker Prakash Jha returns to his signature socio-political genre with "Sankalp," marking the Over-The-Top (OTT) debut of veteran actor Nana Patekar. The teaser for the series, directed by Jha, was unveiled on Friday. "Sankalp" centers on themes of power, politics, and the intricacies of institutional systems.
Patekar takes on the role of Ma'at Saab, a significant strategist whose influence shapes the narrative. The story is built around "Sanskaar, Satta, Samarpan," emphasizing values, authority, and dedication. Actors Sanjay Kapoor and Neeraj Kabi are set to portray characters in opposition to Ma'at Saab, promising intellectual and power-driven conflicts.
The series draws inspiration from the historical dynamic between Chanakya and Chandragupta. However, "Sankalp" recontextualizes this relationship within a modern socio-political landscape. Instead of focusing on warfare, the narrative explores influence within educational and institutional spheres, examining how ideology, ambition, and control shape leadership. Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub will be seen as Patekar's loyal disciple, with Kubra Sait and Kranti Prakash Jha also in the cast. The series is presented by Jio Studios and produced by PJP Films Productions, and it will be available for free on MX Player.
