Veteran actor Nana Patekar had completed the shoot for his upcoming film "Shakti Shalini" prior to his death. The movie is a significant project for Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU).
"Shakti Shalini," which also stars Aneet Padda in the lead, was reportedly Patekar's final film. He had joined the production in May of this year and was set to portray an occultist or tantric. The film's announcement was linked to "Thamma," starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna.
Director Amar Kaushik described "Shakti Shalini" as the most crucial chapter in the MHCU. He and Dinesh Vijan selected newcomer Aneet Padda for the lead role after recognizing her potential. Patekar passed away at his Goa home early this morning at the age of 75 due to cardiac arrest.
