Nagpur Gears Up for 51st Ram Navratri Festivities

From March 18 to March 26, Nagpur will observe its 51st annual Ram Navratri and Hanuman Janmotsav celebrations. These festivities, held at the Shri Ram Mandir ground in Ram Nagar, follow last year's semi-centennial milestone for the Shri Ram Shobhayatra.
The nine-day event promises devotional rituals and cultural programs organized by the Pashchim Nagpur Nagrik Sangh and Shri Ram Mandir. Thousands of devotees are expected to participate, enhancing the spiritual atmosphere of the city.
The highlight, the Shri Ram Shobhayatra, is scheduled for March 26 at 5:30 PM. Beginning from Shri Ram Mandir, this grand procession will feature a palanquin, Ram Rath, and over 50 floats. These floats will showcase diverse elements, including Ramayana scenes, mythological figures, and cultural traditions.
The procession will traverse major areas of West Nagpur, featuring traditional lezim performances and martial arts demonstrations before its conclusion back at Shri Ram Mandir. Dignitaries are expected to attend the ceremonial worship of the palanquin and Ram Rath.
