Nagpur Sings: 3 Nights of Music & Theatre!

Nagpur is set to host the 33rd Dr Vasantrao Deshpande Memorial Music Festival from July 29 to July 31. The event, organized by the South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC), will take place at the Dr Vasantrao Deshpande Memorial Auditorium. Performances are scheduled to begin daily at 6:30 PM, offering a vibrant mix of Hindustani classical music and theatre. The festival commences with a classical vocal recital by Padmashree Shubha Mudgal, followed by a sitar performance by Niladri Kumar, known for his innovative 'Zitar'.

The second evening, July 30, will feature the widely acclaimed Marathi musical 'Devbabhali'. This production by Mumbai-based Bhadrakali Productions has garnered over 40 awards and completed more than 800 shows. Written and directed by Prajakt Deshmukh, it uniquely blends devotional music, folklore, and contemporary themes. The festival’s concluding night on July 31 will present a flute recital by Pandit Ronu Majumdar and a Hindustani vocal performance by Satyasheel Deshpande.
