Naga Munchetty Faces BBC Bullying Probe Amid Social Media Abuse

BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty is reportedly facing a formal investigation by the BBC following accusations of bullying. The probe, which was escalated in November after initial complaints in August, has cast uncertainty over her future at the broadcaster.

Munchetty, who earns between £355,000 and £359,999 annually, has spoken out about a perceived decline in agreeable disagreement, noting, 'People are deciding: you're either with me or you're not.' She expressed concern over the tense nature of public interaction.

The presenter has also been subjected to severe online abuse, including racist comments. She has resorted to blocking social media users, particularly after encountering offensive messages related to her ethnicity.

Reports suggest that while Munchetty may remain with the BBC, her work will be managed by specific producers during the investigation. Her co-host, Charlie Stayt, is also reportedly under review. Munchetty's management has changed, with new agents reportedly exploring opportunities with rival stations.

This situation follows previous on-air incidents, including a seemingly sharp remark to weather host Carol Kirkwood and an alleged sex jibe during a radio show. The BBC has declined to comment on individual HR matters.
