Summary
- Musical 'Music City' transfer to new venue halted indefinitely.
- Legal issues with the Times Square venue cited as the cause.
- Performances were scheduled to begin March 23rd.

The planned transfer of the acclaimed Off Broadway musical 'Music City' to a larger venue has been indefinitely postponed. The production was set to move from its original Manhattan location to a remodeled space in the Times Square area, intended to resemble a Nashville bar.
This significant shift has been halted due to "unforeseen issues" concerning the new venue. Producers announced the pause just days before performances were scheduled to commence on Monday, March 23rd.
"We are taking a brief pause while we regroup," stated producer Gabrielle Palitz. Ticket holders are advised to seek refunds at their point of purchase. The musical, which garnered positive reviews and extended runs at its previous venue, features songs by J.T. Harding and an original book by Peter Zinn.
'Music City' received nominations for the 2025 Drama Desk Awards and the 2025 Off Broadway Alliance Award. The cast and creative team were expected to return for the new production. The musical tells the story of two young singer-songwriters seeking their big break in Nashville.
