Mukesh Khanna Slams Ranveer for Shaktimaan Role

Mukesh Khanna, the original 'Shaktimaan', has taken a firm stance against Ranveer Singh potentially starring in the 'Shaktimaan' reboot. Khanna clarified that his objection is not to Singh's acting talent, which he praised in films like 'Dhurandhar', 'Alauddin Khilji', and 'Gully Boy'. Instead, Khanna is focused on the specific image and facial characteristics required for Shaktimaan.

He elaborated that the actor must possess eyes that reflect Shaktimaan's essence and a face free from perceived negativity. Khanna suggested that Ranveer Singh might be more suitable for the villainous role of Kilvish rather than the titular superhero. He stressed that Shaktimaan needs more than just a star; he needs a face that embodies the character.

In addition to the 'Shaktimaan' casting controversy, Khanna also shared his reservations about Ranbir Kapoor playing Lord Rama in Nitesh Tiwari's 'Ramayana: Part 1'. While acknowledging the teaser, Khanna remains cautious, likening teasers to a first impression in a dating scenario. He believes the full film will ultimately reveal its true quality, drawing parallels to the reception of 'Adipurush'.

'Ramayana: Part 1', featuring Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, is scheduled for a Diwali theatrical release in 2026. The second part, 'Ramayana: Part 2', is slated for a Diwali 2027 release.
