Summary
- The iconic song 'Kaun Tujhe' was initially a male song.
- The song was changed to a female version to fit Dhoni's shy character.
- A personal moment with his son inspired lyricist Manoj Muntashir.

Lyricist Manoj Muntashir disclosed a surprising detail about the popular song 'Kaun Tujhe Yoon Pyaar Karega' from the M.S. Dhoni biopic. During a recent interview, Muntashir shared that the song was initially conceived as a male track, with Arijit Singh slated to sing and Amaal Mallik composing. However, the film's director, Neeraj Pandey, and producer Bhushan Kumar felt that M.S. Dhoni's character was too reserved to openly declare love.
This led to a creative pivot, with the idea that the girlfriend could sing the song for Dhoni instead. This change ultimately preserved the song within the film, much to the relief of the team. Muntashir also revealed that a deeply personal moment with his son, where the child said, "Mumma loves me more," sparked the inspiration for the song's central line. He immediately recognized the poetic potential of his playful response, "Kaun tujhe yun pyaar karega jaise main karta hoon," and jotted it down, leading to one of Bollywood's most romantic melodies.
