MP Chaturvedi Hails 'Dhurandhar' as 'New Age Cinema'

Shiv Sena (UBT) Member of Parliament Priyanka Chaturvedi has publicly commended director Aditya Dhar's latest film, 'Dhurandhar,' featuring Ranveer Singh in a leading role. Chaturvedi expressed her admiration for the movie, which she considers part of a new era of cinema that deserves encouragement.

She specifically noted that 'Dhurandhar,' along with the film 'Chhaava,' presented historical events with a truthful, unvarnished approach. Chaturvedi praised the actors, including Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna, for their dedicated performances in these thought-provoking narratives. She emphasized the importance of engaging with cinema that addresses complex historical truths directly.

The politician further elaborated that both 'Dhurandhar' and 'Chhaava' offer compelling portrayals, calling them "new age cinema." She suggested that these films, by depicting realities including violence and gore, encourage audiences to view history as it is, rather than through a sanitized lens. As of December 5, 'Dhurandhar' was reported to be nearing ₹600 crore in India.
