Morning TV Stars Rally to Celebrate Deborah Roberts' Sisterhood Book

On October 24, 2025, Deborah Roberts celebrated the launch of her new book "Sisters: Loved and Treasured" at a gathering of her colleagues and TV news professionals from rival networks. The event, held at the media haunt Michael's, was attended by a sisterhood of morning television anchors, including Robin Roberts, Gayle King, Savannah Guthrie, and Hoda Kotb.

The book, which features 50 personal stories from prominent women such as Viola Davis, Jenna Bush Hager, Barbara Bush, and more, was the focus of the celebration. Debra O'Connell, the boss of Disney's news group, kicked off the event with opening remarks, and Robin Roberts introduced Deborah, who talked about the "GMA" anchor's role in the book.

According to a partygoer, Deborah quipped that Robin showed up unexpectedly when she interviewed her two sisters, Dorothy Roberts McEwen and Sally-Ann Roberts, for the book, saying, "She wasn't supposed to be there, [she showed up] just to keep tabs on how much family tea they were sharing."

The event was also attended by Deborah's four sisters, her husband Al Roker, Arianna Huffington, Bevy Smith, Tonya Lewis Lee, and ABC colleagues Stephanie Ramos and Will Reeve. David Muir, who was anchoring "ABC World News Tonight," eventually made it to the party after his broadcast, surprising Deborah before the bash ended.

Deborah expressed her gratitude for the support, saying, "The Sisterhood journey is unfolding in real time... Thank you to everyone who is embracing this book. I'm eternally grateful and hopeful that it offers a light into the complex and life-affirming world of sisters and sister friends."
