- Laurel Halo's electric keys offer a surprising new focal point on the album.

Moritz von Oswald, a pivotal figure in Berlin's dub-techno scene, has reformed his namesake Trio for their first album in six years. This new release sees a significant lineup change, introducing jazz drummer Heinrich Köbberling and acclaimed experimental musician Laurel Halo.
Köbberling, known for his work with the Julia Hülsmann Trio, brings a lighter, more agile touch to the drumming, differing from the muscular style of previous collaborator Tony Allen. Halo, celebrated for her versatile electronic music, steps in on electric keys, replacing modular synthesizer textures with the distinct sounds of the Wurlitzer and Rhodes.
This shift has transformed the Trio's sonic palette. While still exploring hybrid 'fourth stream' sounds, the album is noted as their jazziest to date. Halo's contributions, in particular, introduce bright, varied tones, contrasting with von Oswald's signature deep bass synths and moving the group's sound into unexpected, vibrant territories.
