29 Oct
Summary
- Apple and Legendary are in talks for a third season of Monarch.
- Season 3 may feature new Titans and a new writing team.
- A prequel series and Godzilla vs. Kong: Supernova film are also planned.

Apple TV+ and Legendary Television are reportedly in negotiations for a third season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. If renewed, the series, which explores the Monsterverse established by the Godzilla and King Kong films, is poised for substantial evolution.
Discussions indicate that a potential third season could feature a new direction with different writers. The creative team behind the previous seasons, including showrunner Chris Black, may be replaced.
Furthermore, the new season is anticipated to introduce new giant monsters, referred to as Titans within the Monsterverse lore. However, the future of the existing human cast, including stars like Anna Sawai and Kurt Russell, remains undecided.
These potential changes to Monarch: Legacy of Monsters will not impact a separate prequel series that was previously greenlit. This new project will star Wyatt Russell, with Joby Harold serving as showrunner. On the film side, the next installment in the franchise, Godzilla vs. Kong: Supernova, is slated for release in 2027.
