This experience directly informed her understanding and portrayal of her character, Simi Kaler, in the film.

Singh explained that the script resonated strongly with her because of her family's military background. She noted that the scene where Sunny Deol's character enters a minefield mirrored her father's harrowing experience. She joined the 'Border 2' cast only a week before filming commenced, having been initially occupied with promoting another project.
