Mommy's Home: Cryo-Mom Terrorizes Family

Lionsgate has officially tapped David F. Sandberg to direct "Mommy's Home," a new psychological horror film. Sandberg, celebrated for his skill in horror and off-kilter humor, is considered a perfect fit for the material by studio executives. The film's narrative centers on a young father whose family life becomes terrifyingly disrupted when his mother, cryogenically preserved, is unfrozen and comes to live with him. Screenwriter James Morosini, known for "I Love My Dad," penned the script.

Erin Westerman, president of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, highlighted Sandberg's ability to make the film "deeply disturbing in the best possible way." The studio is enthusiastic about Morosini's "incredibly original" script, noting its distinctive voice, compelling characters, and dark, twisted sense of humor. Sandberg and Lotta Losten are producing through their company Mångata, with additional producers and executive producers involved.
