- The project was for the Doritos Build It Bold Challenge competition.

Gabby Whiting, a mother of four from Arizona, recently completed an extraordinary project for the Doritos Build It Bold Challenge: a 7-foot-tall Statue of Liberty sculpture. The creation, dubbed 'Lady Chiperty,' utilized approximately 1,500 Doritos chips and custom-colored paint, costing $528.
Whiting dedicated two weeks to crafting the monument, working around her young children and even breastfeeding during the process. She sourced large foam slabs and sculpted them into the iconic figure, later meticulously covering it with Nacho Cheese and Cool Ranch Doritos, with Sriracha chips forming the torch.
The ambitious project was inspired by the competition's celebration of America's 250th anniversary and its substantial $250,000 grand prize. Whiting documented her DIY journey, sharing both the triumphs and the challenges with her online followers.
Despite facing unexpected hurdles, like fitting the foam into her van and the intricate process of attaching the chips, Whiting's dedication resulted in a unique artistic achievement. She submitted her creation just 45 minutes before the deadline, with help from family to overcome a technical issue.
While awaiting the competition results, Whiting hopes her endeavor inspires other mothers to pursue their passions. 'Lady Chiperty' currently resides in her living room, a testament to creativity and perseverance.
