LaKeith Stanfield is set to headline "Molepeople," a new horror film scheduled for release on August 27, 2027. The project, which originally attached Anthony Ramos in 2024 before moving to Paramount Primal with Stanfield, will begin filming in the U.K. soon.
The narrative centers on a man who ventures into the abandoned tunnels beneath New York City, discovering a civilization thriving in the subterranean darkness. Director Rob Savage, also behind "Other Mommy," describes the film as being "in the vein of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Hills Have Eyes," signaling a return to primal horror themes.
This role marks another significant entry into the horror genre for Stanfield, who has previously appeared in "The Purge: Anarchy," "Get Out," "Death Note," "Haunted Mansion," and the series "The Changeling." Ben Mendelsohn will also star in the film.
