Mohanlal Fans Revolt Against Filmmaker's Next Military Drama

In the past week, filmmaker Major Ravi has announced his next ambitious project, 'Pahalgam', which is inspired by real-life military operations Sindoor and Mahadev. The film, which began with a traditional pooja ceremony at the Mookambika Temple, aims to honor the courage and emotional resilience of Indian soldiers.

However, even before the official announcement, the project has faced heavy backlash on social media - surprisingly, from within actor Mohanlal's own fan base. Several fans have voiced their disapproval, questioning the director's filmmaking abilities and expressing concerns over Mohanlal's recent film choices.

One fan warned that Mohanlal should not try to "please the right-wing" at the cost of losing his "huge left fanbase and neutral educated base." Another user added that it's "time to stop" if Major Ravi cannot deliver a film on par with his previous work, such as 'Picket 43'.

Despite the criticism, the 'Pahalgam' team remains focused on bringing the story to life. Produced by Major Ravi and Anoop Mohan, the film is envisioned as a pan-Indian release in multiple languages. Astrologer Jithesh Panicker and filmmaker Jayaram Kailas were among those who attended the launch event and extended their best wishes.
