Modest Mouse Guitarist Out Over Alleged Minor Accusations

Modest Mouse has announced that guitarist Simon O'Connor will be absent from their upcoming tour. This decision follows accusations that O'Connor sent inappropriate messages to a minor on social media. The guitarist, who joined the band in 2021 and contributed to their recent album, acknowledged making a mistake and apologized for his poor judgment.

O'Connor stated he mistakenly believed the individual was someone he had previously interacted with online. He explained his actions were an attempt to call out perceived trolling, but he quickly realized his error and ceased communication. Despite his explanation, the band opted to proceed without him for the tour.

Seth Jabour from Les Savy Fav will be stepping in to play guitar for Modest Mouse. The band's tour is scheduled to commence on August 4 in Ojai, California, and will conclude on October 23 in Sacramento. It remains unclear if O'Connor's departure is permanent.
