In October 2025, Ariel Winter, who played Alex Dunphy on the hit sitcom Modern Family, revealed that she learned about her co-star Eric Stonestreet's surprise wedding through their group chat before the actor, 54, publicly announced his marriage to Lindsay Schweitzer.
According to Winter, Stonestreet and Schweitzer invited only about 10 of their closest friends and family to their Kansas City home, where they got married in an intimate ceremony in September 2022. The couple then shared the wedding photos with the Modern Family cast in their group chat, and Winter says she and her co-stars were thrilled for the newlyweds.
"Eric and Lindsay are absolutely incredible. She's so wonderful. She's been a part of our family really for a long time, and I'm just so happy for them because she's awesome. So I'm so happy that they made that happen," Winter gushed.
Stonestreet, who played the beloved character Cameron Tucker on Modern Family, had previously shared his plans to tie the knot at his Kansas City home, where he and Schweitzer were building a house to host their wedding.
