Fashion icon Miss J, aged 67, was recently seen at the opening night of Titanique on Broadway in New York City on April 12, 2026. This appearance follows his public revelation in February 2026 about suffering a stroke on December 27, 2022. The incident led to a five-week coma, and he struggled with basic functions like walking and talking afterwards.
Miss J shared that he spent an extended period, about a year and five months, in a hospital unable to walk or speak. During this time, he was visited by former America's Next Top Model co-stars Jay Manuel and Nigel Barker, which was an emotional experience. Despite these difficulties, Miss J remains resolute in his recovery.
He stated that he is currently unable to walk but is determined to regain this ability. Nigel Barker also spoke about visiting Miss J in the hospital, describing the encounter as a "terrible shock" and "scary." While Tyra Banks sent a text expressing a desire to visit, she had not yet done so as of the docuseries' release.
Following the docuseries, friends organized a GoFundMe for Miss J, citing additional health issues including mini-strokes and seizures during his extensive rehabilitation period.
