Time Travel Romance: BBC & A24 Series Unveiled

Filming is underway in and around London for the new BBC and A24 fantasy series, 'The Ministry of Time.' This six-part show is an adaptation of Kaliane Bradley's bestselling debut novel.

The series centers on a newly established government department tasked with testing time-travel feasibility by bringing 'expats' from various historical periods to the present. Aoife Hinds portrays Sophy, a civil servant who finds herself helping Commander Graham Gore, a Victorian polar explorer played by Billy Howle, adjust to modern life.

What begins as a professional alliance between Sophy and Commander Gore develops into an intense, forbidden romance. Their burgeoning relationship is juxtaposed with the growing danger posed by the Ministry's sinister true objectives, putting both characters at risk.

Alice Birch has adapted and written the series, serving as an executive producer alongside Aneil Karia and Jo McClellan for the BBC. A24 holds the international distribution rights, with co-production partners including Amediateka, Australia's Binge, Canada's Crave, and Germany's ZDF.
