Summary
- Moms-only dance party company MFT aims to alleviate stress of parenthood
- Launched in 2023, MFT's events have sold out in Denver and expanded to larger venues
- Company plans multi-city tour this fall and winter to bring the dance party experience to more moms

In 2023, a grassroots movement called Moms Feelin' Themselves (MFT) was born out of a desire to help millennial moms avoid burnout and rediscover their joy. Co-founder Elizabeth Wellington, a perinatal psychotherapist, explains that the company created a moms-only dance party called The Mom Dance Party to provide a space for women to "laugh, move, have fun and blow off steam from the pressures of motherhood."
Since its launch last year, MFT has seen incredible demand for its events. The company started with sold-out 125-person dance parties in Denver before moving to the city's Bluebird Theater, which can accommodate 550 people. Wellington says the response has been overwhelming, with moms sharing that the experience has helped them feel more like themselves again, prioritize their own happiness, and become more present and joyful in their roles as mothers.
Now, MFT is taking its dance party on the road. This fall and winter, the company will embark on its first multi-city tour, with stops planned in Boston, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. And according to Wellington, they're already dreaming up more cities to visit in 2026, as the demand for this unique moms-only experience continues to grow.
