Birbiglia's New Comedy: College Friends Reunited

Mike Birbiglia, an Emmy-nominated comedian, is set to write and direct "Old Friends New Friends," a new comedy film announced by Focus Features. The movie will feature a cast including Lucas Hedges, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Geraldine Viswanathan, and Dylan Gelula.

The film's narrative centers on a close-knit group of college friends who attend a wedding at a summer camp. Upon arrival, they discover their old friend has developed a new life with new companions. This realization prompts the friends to examine their own life changes and the potential for growing apart.

Birbiglia is known for his previous directorial efforts, "Sleepwalk With Me" and "Don't Think Twice," as well as his stand-up specials and acting roles. Focus Features is experiencing a successful year, with "Obsession" becoming its highest-grossing film to date.
