Summary
- Singer Mika Singh contributed Rs 11 lakhs to Rajpal Yadav.
- Rajpal Yadav surrendered in Tihar jail on a cheque-bounce case.
- The actor faced financial issues from a 2010 loan for a film.

Singer Mika Singh has pledged Rs 11 lakhs to aid actor Rajpal Yadav, who was incarcerated in Tihar jail on February 11, 2026, due to a cheque-bounce case. This development followed the Delhi High Court's refusal to grant Yadav further relief in a protracted debt dispute, leading to his surrender. Mayan Arya, founder of Yes Madan, also offered financial assistance and an ad film opportunity to Yadav.
Yadav's financial struggles originated from a 5 crore loan secured in 2010 for his directorial venture, "Ata Pata Laapata." The film's poor performance resulted in a repayment crisis and subsequent legal action. In 2018, Yadav was convicted under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees has also urged the film industry to support him.
Singh's initiative joins a growing list of celebrities offering help, including Sonu Sood, Gurmeet Choudhary, and Guru Randhawa. Singh expressed pride in the industry's unity but urged tangible contributions beyond mere announcements. The situation underscores broader concerns regarding support systems for artists facing financial or legal distress within the entertainment fraternity.
