Migrants' Perilous Journey Captured in Gripping Drama 'The Silent Run'

In the upcoming drama 'The Silent Run', director Marta Bergman sheds light on the perilous journey of migrants illegally entering Belgium in hopes of reaching England. The film, which will world premiere in International Competition at the Cairo Film Festival, centers on Sara and Adam, a couple with their two-year-old daughter, as they are crammed into the back of a van with other migrants.

As fear starts to overtake hope, the story also follows Redouane, a police officer of 20 years, who spends his nights chasing smugglers on Belgium's busy motorway network. When Redouane's team attempts to stop a van suspected of transporting migrants, everything changes.

Bergman, who previously directed the 2018 film 'Alone at My Wedding', has crafted a gripping narrative that explores the perspectives of both the migrants and the authorities tasked with stopping them. The film's cast includes Salim Kechiouche, Zbeida Belhajamor, Clara Toros and Abda Razak Alsweha.
