Rourke Slams Eviction Fundraiser as 'Humiliating'

Actor Mickey Rourke has forcefully denounced a GoFundMe campaign initiated in his name to cover back rent and prevent eviction from his Los Angeles residence. The 73-year-old star, served a notice for $59,100 in unpaid rent, expressed extreme displeasure, labeling the fundraising as "humiliating" and "embarrassing." He explicitly denied any knowledge of the campaign, which had raised nearly $97,000 of its $100,000 goal by Monday night, and stated he would never seek charity.

Rourke further elaborated on his frustration in a video, declaring he would "rather stick a gun up my a** and pull the trigger" than ask for charity. He claimed his living situation is dire, citing "rotten" floors and infestations of rats and mice, along with plumbing issues. The actor also reflected on his career management, admitting to poor financial stewardship over the years, and urged those who donated to seek refunds.

While the GoFundMe was reportedly created with Rourke's manager's assistant's claim of his "full permission," Rourke insisted he has too much pride to solicit funds from strangers. He is reportedly exploring legal options to uncover who initiated the campaign without his consent. Amidst these financial difficulties, Rourke was also observed checking into a luxury hotel in West Hollywood.
