Lionsgate is actively preparing for a sequel to its successful Michael Jackson biopic, 'Michael'. Studio motion picture chair Adam Fogelson indicated that the project is progressing exceptionally well. He noted that a vast amount of Jackson's captivating story and popular music catalog remains unexplored from the first film. Many significant events, even those from the original movie's timeframe, were also not included.
The film 'Michael' has already garnered substantial global success, earning $715.8 million worldwide since its release in April. The sequel's narrative flexibility was highlighted by Fogelson, who suggested that the story could move both forwards and backwards in time. Notably, previously shot footage from the first film, estimated to comprise 25-30% of a potential second movie, might be incorporated to reduce production expenses.
