It will also touch upon his advocacy for causes like gun control and nuclear disarmament, an area where he was appointed a UN Messenger of Peace in 1998.
Douglas, whose career spans five decades in film, TV, and producing, aims to present a truthful narrative. He stated, "This is about where I came from, what I fought against, and what I chose for myself." The book will also celebrate his marriage to Catherine Zeta-Jones and his role as a philanthropist.
The acquisition of world rights was handled by Grand Central Publishing, with a simultaneous UK publication planned via Headline. Editor-in-Chief Colin Dickerman described Douglas' life as a "towering achievement in perseverance," highlighting the honesty and intimacy promised in the narrative.
