Michael B. Jordan's 'Sinners' Earns Gotham Ensemble Tribute

On October 16, 2025, the Gotham Film & Media Institute announced that it will be honoring the remarkable ensemble cast of the acclaimed vampire film 'Sinners' with its prestigious Ensemble Tribute. The film, which was released earlier this year to critical acclaim, is led by Michael B. Jordan in a dual role as twin brothers Smoke and Stack.

Directed by Ryan Coogler, 'Sinners' is set in 1932 Mississippi and follows the brothers as they return to their hometown of Clarksdale to open a juke joint and revive the soul and spirit of their community. However, as the film's music and dance celebrate artistry, culture, and history, an evil force threatens to devour the very fabric of the community.

The Gotham's Executive Director, Jeffrey Sharp, praised the film's "remarkable ensemble cast" for their "bracing, inspired performances" that create "one of the great cinematic experiences of the year." The cast includes Hailee Steinfeld, Miles Caton, Jack O'Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Omar Miller, Buddy Guy, Li Jun Li, and Delroy Lindo, among others.

'Sinners' has been a major box office success, grossing over $366 million worldwide and becoming one of the highest-grossing original horror films ever. The film was shot on both Ultra Panavision 70 and IMAX 70mm, further enhancing its cinematic experience.
