The project has attracted the attention of two major Hollywood stars, with Michael B. Jordan and Austin Butler reportedly in early talks to play the lead roles of undercover detectives Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs, respectively. Directing the new 'Miami Vice' film will be Joseph Kosinski, the filmmaker behind blockbusters like 'F1' and 'Top Gun: Maverick'. Kosinski will be working with a script co-written by Dan Gilroy, the acclaimed writer and director of the psychological thriller 'Nightcrawler', ensuring that the movie will blend high-octane action with a gritty, morally complex narrative.
