Mia Sara's Shocking Ferris Bueller Revelation

Mia Sara, beloved for her role as Sloane Peterson in the 1986 film Ferris Bueller's Day Off, has shared that her memories of filming the iconic movie are not as positive as fans might imagine. In a rare interview, the 59-year-old actress expressed that the experience was difficult and that she did not get along well with director John Hughes.

Sara described Hughes as a "strange guy" whose attempts to foster camaraderie among the cast were met with her disinterest as a "snotty New York kid." While she recalled a sweet, albeit unrequited, crush on co-star Matthew Broderick, she noted his simultaneous relationship with Jennifer Grey.

Despite finding certain career moments proud, Sara found acting challenging, citing a lack of resilience for the audition process. She ultimately stepped away from Hollywood to focus on her family, including her two children, and poetry. She has been married to Brian Henson since 2010.

In June 2025, Sara made a return to acting after more than a decade, appearing in Mike Flanagan's adaptation of Stephen King's 'The Life of Chuck'. This marked her first role since exiting the spotlight.
