The Canary Islands become a backdrop for suspense in Guillaume Nicloux's new film, 'Mi Amor.' The thriller follows Romy, a French DJ played by Pom Klementieff, whose friend vanishes during a tour. Her search for answers takes her through sun-drenched locales and the dark underbelly of the islands.
As Romy encounters evasion from locals and authorities, she crosses paths with Vincent, a compelling stranger portrayed by Benoît Magimel. The investigation also points towards the owners of an exotic animal sanctuary, adding a sinister layer to her quest.
The film, co-written by Nicloux and Nathalie Leuthreau, boasts a techno soundtrack by Irène Drésel and Sizo Del Givry. 'Mi Amor' had its world premiere at the 55th International Film Festival Rotterdam on Sunday, February 2nd. Following a screening, Drésel and Del Givry are set to perform live.
