Metallica Fuels Cardiff Foodbank with £20,000 Donation

Metallica's charitable foundation, All Within My Hands, has made a substantial donation of £20,000 to Cardiff Foodbank. This generous contribution will fund the purchase of approximately 9,000 meals for individuals and families facing hardship.

The donation occurred just before the band's performance at the Principality Stadium, providing much-needed support to a foodbank that had recently reported critically low inventory. The charity's CEO expressed immense gratitude, noting the donation would replenish their empty shelves.

Cardiff Foodbank serves 20,000 people annually across eight centers and via a mobile service, with one-third of recipients being children. The foodbank has seen a 27% drop in food donations while demand remains high, exacerbated by the cost of living crisis.

This marks the largest celebrity donation received by the foodbank, surpassing a previous contribution from Taylor Swift. Metallica's initiative also encouraged fans to donate blood in collaboration with the Welsh Blood Service.
