Two passionate Metallica fans faced severe consequences after a daring stunt during the band's recent concert. Beau William Loch Rollings, aged 20, and Rory Hugh Culbert, 23, received lifetime bans from Perth's Optus Stadium. The pair climbed a central speaker tower inside the stadium, remaining at heights between 10 and 50 meters for about 20 minutes while the concert continued.
The dangerous escalation prompted a swift reaction from venue security and law enforcement. Police confiscated the fans' phones as evidence in their trespass investigation. Magistrate Ruth Dineen criticized the act as "an incredibly stupid thing to do," highlighting the serious safety risks involved.
Rollings and Culbert entered guilty pleas to charges of trespassing, acknowledging the gravity of their actions. Rollings was fined $1,000 and ordered to pay court costs of $308.80, with Culbert receiving a similar penalty. This incident underscores the strict measures taken to ensure stadium safety during large events.
