Meri Brown's Stubborn Stand Against Kody's Rejection

Meri Brown intentionally remained in her marriage to Kody Brown, even after realizing their relationship was irreconcilable. She explained on a recent episode that she suspected Kody wanted her to be the one to leave, allowing him to present himself as an innocent party in the separation. Meri described her determination to stay as being a 'knife in his kidney,' refusing to take the burden of ending the union off of him.

She held onto hope for years that Kody would work on their relationship, despite periods of intense silence and unfulfilled promises of new beginnings. Meri indicated that their marital problems dated back to their time in Las Vegas. She felt Kody avoided directly addressing their issues with her while discussing them with others.

Meri's decision to finally leave the marriage and relocate from Arizona came after both Christine and Janelle Brown announced their respective separations from Kody in 2021 and 2022. Christine Brown had previously commented that Meri and Kody appeared to be 'terrible to each other' in the early years of their marriage, suggesting their issues were long-standing and deeply rooted.

Meanwhile, Janelle Brown has estimated that Kody is now estranged from a significant majority of his adult children, with 90 to 95 percent reportedly alienated. Kody and Robyn Brown remain committed to their marriage.
