Melissa Rycroft Avoids Jail Time in DWI Case

Melissa Rycroft, known for her appearances on 'The Bachelor' and 'Dancing with the Stars,' has reached a plea agreement in her Texas DWI case. A judge formally approved the deal last week, sentencing the former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader to 20 months of probation.

Instead of serving 280 days in jail, Rycroft must pay around $2,000 in fines and court costs. She is also required to complete 36 hours of community service, undergo a DWI education course, and have a substance abuse evaluation.

Under the terms of her probation, Rycroft is prohibited from consuming alcohol or using illegal drugs. She will also need to submit to drug and alcohol testing as required. Her driving privileges are restricted, allowing her to operate a vehicle only if it is equipped with an ignition interlock device.

Rycroft was arrested in September 2025 for driving while intoxicated. At the time of her arrest, she reportedly told officers about a hit-and-run incident, though witnesses allegedly disputed this account. She later addressed the arrest on social media, acknowledging personal struggles and her commitment to moving forward.
