Melissa McCarthy Hosts SNL for First Time Since 2017

In a highly anticipated move, it has been announced that acclaimed actress and comedian Melissa McCarthy will be returning to host "Saturday Night Live" on December 6, 2025. This will mark McCarthy's sixth time hosting the long-running sketch comedy series, with her last appearance on the show dating back to 2017.

McCarthy, who has received six Emmy nominations for her work on SNL, including a win for best guest actress in a comedy series in 2017, is expected to bring her signature comedic flair and impeccable timing to the stage. Joining her as the musical guest for the December 6 episode will be Dijon, who will be making his SNL debut.

The announcement comes as SNL recently wrapped up its historic 50th season, which was commemorated with a Peacock documentary series and a three-hour special featuring a myriad of former cast members and A-list guests.
