Melissa Joan Hart: 'I Never Watched My Own Shows!'
16 Feb
Summary
- Actress Melissa Joan Hart rarely watched her own TV shows.
- She forgot starring in 'Boy Meets World' until recently.
- Hart related more to 'Clarissa' than 'Sabrina'.
- Sabrina the Teenage Witch is celebrating its 30th anniversary.

Melissa Joan Hart, renowned for her roles in 'Clarissa Explains It All' and 'Sabrina the Teenage Witch,' confessed that she seldom watched her own television series as a teenager. The actress noted that her engagement with her past work was limited, primarily watching 'Melissa & Joey' because she was live-tweeting the episodes. It was only recently, for her podcast, that she began watching select episodes to refresh her memory for guests.
Hart shared that over the years, she had forgotten about certain projects she had appeared in, humorously recounting a guest spot on 'Boy Meets World' that she didn't remember. While the 30th anniversary of 'Sabrina the Teenage Witch' is approaching, Hart admitted to finding rewatching her old shows a bit 'cringe.' She previously stated in 2024 that she didn't identify with Sabrina, finding the character's struggles with magical abilities and desire to be a wallflower unrelatable.
In contrast, Hart found a stronger connection with her character Clarissa. She explained that playing Clarissa allowed her the freedom to discover her own identity concurrently with her character's journey, blurring the lines between their experiences as they were the same age.
