Melissa Gilbert Finds Lost Biological Brothers

Actress Melissa Gilbert recently shared the heartwarming news of finding her biological brothers. Adopted at birth, Gilbert had previously connected with her biological father's family and found half-siblings, though those relationships were complex.

Through a distant biological cousin on her mother's side, Gilbert was put in touch with siblings she never knew existed. She discovered she has three older brothers: Matt, Laird, and Mark. Sadly, Mark passed away several years ago.

Matt has shared his excitement about finding his sister after 66 years, expressing joy in connecting with Melissa and his brother Laird. He noted that while Mark is no longer alive to share the moment, his son is involved. Matt emphasized that finding his public figure sister means more than her fame, but rather the lifetime of separation overcome.

Gilbert, who is 62 years old, has been open about her adoption, explaining that her biological parents were married to other people when they conceived her. Her mother was an exotic dancer and her father a musician and racer. They married and moved their existing children in, making Gilbert number seven, which led to the decision for her adoption.
