Amazon Prime Video announced that a two-part docuseries about Melania Trump will be released on November 20. Titled "Melania Trump: The Series," the episodes include "Family & Trust," focusing on her time before becoming First Lady, and "Pride & Honor," which covers the period immediately after the inauguration.
The docuseries follows the earlier theatrical release of "Melania, The Film" on January 30 and its subsequent streaming debut on March 9. Despite Amazon's claims of "historic success," the film incurred significant financial losses, grossing $16.6 million worldwide against a $40 million rights acquisition and an additional $35 million in marketing expenses.
Directed by Brett Ratner and executive produced by Melania Trump herself, the film garnered negative reviews. Chief film critic Owen Gleiberman from Variety described "Melania, The Film" as a "cheeseball infomercial of staggering inertia," criticizing its orchestrated and airbrushed presentation.
