Despite earlier aspirations for major Hollywood roles, such as appearing on Netflix or alongside A-list stars, this guest spot on the Australian reality show signifies a different career trajectory.

Markle previously made an appearance on MasterChef Australia as a guest judge in April 2026. She also featured on Food Network's Chopped Junior in 2016, indicating a recurring presence in culinary television. Her decision to participate in Junior MasterChef Australia is also seen as a response to speculation about her relationship with co-star Poh Ling Yeow.

Poh Ling Yeow, a co-star on the show, has defended Markle, calling her return the "ultimate clapback" against negative reports. Yeow praised Markle's resilience against "insatiable and horrible" critics.
