Meghan's Father Fights for Life After Surgery

Thomas Markle, the 81-year-old father of the Duchess of Sussex, is currently in intensive care in a hospital in the Philippines after undergoing emergency surgery. His son, Tom Jr., reported that his father is stable but heavily medicated and dependent on life-support machines following what was described as a life-threatening medical emergency. The family expressed gratitude for global support and urged continued positive thoughts for his recovery.

The retired lighting director was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday after suffering a serious medical crisis at his home in Cebu, where he moved earlier this year. He underwent over three hours of surgery on Wednesday. This health scare follows a history of medical issues, including two heart attacks before his daughter's 2018 wedding and a stroke in 2022, which have left him in increasingly frail health.

Amidst their father's critical condition, Tom Jr. stated that the family has received no communication from Prince Harry and Meghan. He implored the couple to reach out to their father, who has never met his son-in-law or his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet. The Sussexes have yet to release a statement concerning Thomas Markle's current health crisis.
