New details have emerged about disagreements between Meghan Markle and Queen Elizabeth leading up to the 2018 royal wedding. Royal editor Russell Myers, in his book 'William & Catherine: The Intimate Inside Story,' details how Meghan declined help from Lady Anson, a seasoned royal event planner who had assisted with previous major royal occasions.

Lady Anson, the late monarch's cousin, was recommended by the Queen. According to Myers, Meghan stated Lady Anson was not required, a decision that reportedly left the Queen "hurt beyond belief." Lady Anson had previously organized events like Queen Elizabeth's 90th birthday and the weddings of Prince William and Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece.

Another point of contention involved Meghan's wedding attire. Reports suggest Meghan refused to disclose details of her wedding dress to the Queen and insisted on wearing a veil. This choice reportedly conflicted with the Queen's private views, as Meghan was a divorcee, a circumstance that had previously led other royal divorcees like Queen Camilla and Princess Anne to forgo traditional veils or white gowns.
