On October 18, 2025, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made a solemn public appearance to support their close friend Kelly Zajfen at a memorial tennis tournament. Zajfen, the mother of twins George and Lily, tragically lost her 9-year-old son George in July 2022.
The Duchess of Sussex took to Instagram to express her pride in "proudly supporting the George Zajfen Tennis Tournament," an event held in honor of Zajfen's late son. During the athletic event, Meghan and Harry were spotted embracing Zajfen's daughter Lily, with Meghan referring to her as "our other favorite Lily."
Footage from the tournament showed Meghan wiping away tears as Zajfen gave a speech thanking attendees for their continued support. The royal couple's Archewell Foundation had co-sponsored the event, which raised a record-breaking $200,000 for Zajfen's Alliance of Moms organization.
In an Instagram post, Zajfen expressed her gratitude towards Meghan and Harry, saying, "Meg and H, You continue to amaze me with your commitment to community and your fierce loyalty and love in friendship. We are so grateful you chose to support The Alliance again this year. I'm always in awe of your ability to show up for others, for this cause and for our family. Thank you for holding Georgie in your hearts and helping us carry his light forward."
Meghan and Zajfen have been close friends for many years, with the nonprofit founder even making a cameo on the first season of Meghan's "With Love" docuseries in 2023.
