These films are inspired by Steve Alten's 1997 novel series, featuring Statham as a deep-sea diver confronting massive, prehistoric sharks.
"The Meg" grossed over $530 million globally, establishing it as Statham's most successful action series to date. While "Meg 2: The Trench" also performed commercially, its box office earnings of $398.5 million were lower than its predecessor. Discussions for a potential third installment are ongoing, with hopes to adapt "Meg: Primal Waters."
